Sylvester S. Dzenga (Executive Director)

(Bcom Hons) Finance and Investments

Sylvester Dzenga is Aquifon Investment’s Chief Financial and Investment Officer.  He obtained a B.Com degree in Economics and Finance at the University of the Witwatersrand. Sylvester started at Guma Investment Holdings in 2007 as a Financial Analyst before going on to establish Essen El Trading, a dynamic commodity trading as well as transportation business. In his current role as the Executive Director, Sylvester has since been influential in growing the companies’ year on year returns as well as expansion into industries including retail, oil and gas. He has also set up the firms’ management consulting business. Sylvester is also the executive responsible for setting up Aquifon’s accounting policy’s across most of the countries we operate in as well as the overall financial outlook of the business. He has been instrumental in setting up the systems and processes for each of the business entities under the group as the the company extends its footprint throughout Africa.

Leslie Mlalazi (Senior Associate)

(B Pharm Hons)

Leslie is an experienced and strategic innovator. In his different roles he has been involved in defining and implementing business architectures and models, leading large scale change programmes, re-engineering end to end business processes for revenue growth and operational efficiencies, and embedding risk and control management disciplines. As a  Senior Associate, Leslie is instrumental in translating and implementing Aquifon’s strategy into operations, thereby enabling the business to achieve its growth objectives. Having led large teams responsible for sales support, operations, IT and intelligence, he has developed a well-rounded array of general management skills and experience to excel in his role of profit enhancement in both start ups and operational businesses.

Nelson Taimo (Head Business Development)

Dip Project Mgt, Dip Comprehensive Programming

Nelson joined Aquifon Investments in January 2013.  He has experience within the Oil & Gas, ICT industry, Project Management and Business Development. He has managed projects for Puma Energy a vertically integrated midstream and downstream oil company focusing mainly on emerging markets, providing services such as Storage, Retail, Wholesale, Aviation and Business to Business. He is a Mozambican national and a executive committee member of the South Africa Mozambique Chamber of Commerce(SAMOZACC). He has managed Oil & Gas and ICT projects throughout Africa in countries such as Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Benin, Mozambique, DRC, Zambia. He also serves on multiple boards of Mozambican companies with interests in banking, mining and manufacturing. Nelson is responsible for business development and new acquisitions at Aquifon Investments.

Vicky Uliana

CIS Management and Administration

Vicky joined Aquifon Investments in 2014. Having previously worked in the FMCG industry. She has become the heartbeat of the organization seeing to it that all office operations, procedures and the administrative processes work effectively. Vicky oversees the office expenditure and budgets, recruitment of new staff, training and induction as well as organizing and chairing staff meetings. She is the first port of call for the firm directing all queries efficiently to respective stakeholders. In her role, she also works actively with the executive directors in ensuring that there are up to speed with all business developments.
